How medical aid usually works
Most medical schemes pay for psychology from your day-to-day benefits or savings, up to a limit for the year.
Schemes must also cover a set of conditions known as prescribed minimum benefits. These include certain mental health conditions.
What is covered, and how many sessions, depends on your scheme and your plan. Please ask your scheme directly. I cannot advise on a particular scheme’s rules.
If your benefits run out
If your benefits run out during the year, sessions are paid for privately. Tell me early, and we can plan around it.
Paying privately
You do not have to use medical aid. Some people prefer not to claim. See Your privacy & confidentiality.
