What it is
Brainspotting is a “brain and body based” approach developed by David Grand.
It is based on the idea that the direction in which you look is connected to what you feel. A “brainspot” is an eye position that seems linked to a particular feeling or experience.
What a session is like
I help you find an eye position that seems connected to what you are feeling. You keep your eyes there and notice what comes up, in your thoughts and in your body.
It is quiet, and it goes at your pace. There is less talking than many people expect.
What it is typically used for
Brainspotting is typically used for the after-effects of difficult or traumatic experiences that are hard to put into words.
Is it right for me?
How any one person responds to a therapy differs. You do not need to decide before you come. We would decide together at the first session.
